Accommodation Options on The Palm Jumeirah
As relocation experts one of the the key skills of the Move One Relocation Consultant is advising assignees about all the different accommodation options in various areas in Dubai. When expats arrive in Dubai one of the most popular areas assignees want to look at as an option is the well know Palm Jumeirah.
Palm Jumeirah is as its name suggest is a man-made island in the shape of a palm tree with 14 fronds (leaves), a crown and a crescent island which serves as a breakwater. It was built by Nakheel a company owned by the Dubai government. Buildings have been constructed up and down the trunk on the Palm, the crown, around the fronds, and along the crescent. The first residential units were handed over in 2006. The total area of the Palm is 5×5 sq kms.
Its located just off the coast of Dubai in between Madinat Jumeirah and Jumeirah Beach Residences (JBR). Access is by road. It is not connected to the Dubai Metro System but there is a monorail that departs from the Gateway Towers at the entrance to the Palm up to the Atlantis Hotel. At the moment this monorail is mainly used by tourists however there are plans to link it to the new Al Sufouh Tram network., so the best option at present is to have access to a car. It is also worth noting that there are no school or major supermarket actually located on The Palm.
