Burj Khalifa-Dubai Mall Metro station to be closed; free shuttle bus services will be available to and from Downtown area
With New Year’s eve and a three-day weekend around the corner the Roads and Transport Authority(RTA) has announced its public transportation master plan, involving metro, tram, bus, marine transportation services and taxis, in addition to parking options available in most crowded areas.
RTA is expecting 820,000 riders on New Year’s eve – the most crowded day on the emirate’s public transportation system – and an additional 490,000 riders the next day, according to Maitha bin Adai, CEO of Traffic and Roads Agency at RTA.
Earlier, RTA said a million riders are expected on Dubai Metro during the entire event. Last year, 748,377 riders were recorded using the Metro, of whom 60,815 riders were lifted from Burj Khalifa – Dubai Mall station. Read more
Key areas see decline, realty experts say rents will remain stable in 2015
Tenants can now breathe easy as realty experts predict residential rents to remain stable or fall slightly next year.
“Rents in Dubai are now close to their peak. They have risen 50 per cent in the last two years and the market is showing signs of slowing down. In the last three months, rents largely remained stable or dropped slightly in certain parts of Dubai. Hi Louise, we have recently moved to Dubai with two 13 yr old girls. One is interested in Athletics (400,800 & 1500M) and competed to a high level in Australia. The other is interested in Ballet (classical, contemporary & jazz) in which she followed the Cecchetti syllabus in classical and attended a competitive ballet school.
