“Hadutta Masriya” A group exhibition at The Mojo Gallery
Featuring the works of
Mohamed Abla | Guirguis Lotfi | Hany Rashed
13 November – 30th December 2011
The Arab Spring has brought about seismic change in post revolution Egypt. Nevertheless, most Egyptians have gone about their lives decisively, with purpose and in celebration, all the while attempting to maintain a sense of normalcy in their everyday activities.
Hadutta Masriya – an Egyptian story – is the story of the lives of everyday Egyptians as seen through the eyes of three highly acclaimed artists in a group exhibition at the Mojo Gallery: Mohamed Abla, Guirguis Lotfi, and Hany Rashed. What makes the tale intriguing is to realize that these stories take place pre-and post-Arab spring, and how our awareness of what has taken place now shapes our understanding of this narrative.
If there is a message that emerges from Hadutta Masriya, it is a very simple and profound one, and that is: life carries on.
