Ask Louise
Hi Louise. We are in Dubai for 3 nights, 2 days in June. Two mature (no, not old) couples. So far on the list is a Desert Safari Dinner, Mosque visit (which one?), Souk visit (which one?) and Mall – because it is there, maybe Skiing?
My question is, I understand there is now Jazz at the Burj Al Arab. How much does it cost and do we need to book way ahead of time? We are staying at the Sofitel. Any other suggestions or contacts are welcome!
Yes, you do need to book ahead by calling +971 4 301 7600 or sending an email to BAArestaurants@jumeirah.com. There is a minimum spend of DHS225 per person. I would suggest you do the Cultural Breakfast at Sheikh Mohammed Centre of Cultural Understanding. This gives you a really good insight in to Emirati culture. After this, get an Abra from the Creek across to the Spice & Gold Souk. Head across to Mall of the Emirates for a coffee and light lunch followed by skiing at Ski Dubai. That evening you can enjoy an evening of Jazz at the fantastic Burj al Arab Hotel.
Next morning why not visit Jumeirah Mosque for a tour, then visit Souk al Bahar and Dubai Mall for lunch, view the fantastic aquarium and take a trip up the worlds tallest building – Burj Khalifa (book in advance) before experiencing your desert safari dinner. You will be tired after these two days but you will have had a good snap shot of Dubai.
Louise,
Many thanks …. just what I needed …a local view. I know its a few months away but i will give you some feedback after the trip. any further ideas or thoughts are always welcome …
