Hi, I have just moved here and about to rent an apartment.  Can you please just tell me what documents I need to check before renting as I have read so many horror stories in the media.
 

You will need to check the following:

Landlord passport copy
First page of the contract of ownership/ Sales purchase agreement if any
Draft rental contract
Title deed or affection plan
Copy of Final DEWA bill from previous tenant showing all outstanding dues paid
