Q. I took my 11 yr old to an optician at Le Marche and they said they didn’t do eye tests on children under 13 years .Do you know if this would be the same all over Dubai ? They suggested that I go down the medical route and get a referral from the clinic to possibly Dubai Medical Center .This sounds a bit pricey although I haven’t checked if our insurance covers it. I don’t want ot wait until going back to UK in summer as it feels a bit long away .Cheers .

A. I had the same thing when I took my daughter to my optician in Dubai Mall in the end I went to Moorfields Eye Hospital at Dubai Health Care City which is excellent. They are very experienced in examining children’s eyes. Check out their website www.moorfields.ae which gives more information on the matter.
