Ask Louise | Activities for Teens in Dubai
I am a 16 year old boy currently living in Dubai. I attend K-12 International Academy as this is the most convenient school for me due to my lack of Arabic skills and late enrollment into this school year. The only problem is that K-12 International Academy operates from home. How would I go about making friends around my area (JBR) or elsewhere that are in the same age spectrum as me.
The best way to meet people in Dubai is through sport, hobbies or volunteering. Now that you have the tram up and running which connects to the metro you have good access to Mall of Emirates where DUCTAC is located. They have some great art, drama & music courses. Check out Drop In and Drum. Have a look at The Courtyard Playhouse which is located in Al Quoz as they hold “Improv Workshops” especially designed for teens.
If you are sporty and enjoy football or basketball take a look at our sporting directory eg IFA Sports or E-Sports who have locations all over Dubai including nearby locations such as Dubai British School in The Meadows and Wellington International School. If you enjoy running check out the running club which is part of Bodylines at The Amwaj Rotana or other active groups throughout Dubai such as Abras Running Club.
Another way to meet people in Dubai is through volunteering and check out Volunteer in UAE who help support charities and non-profit societies here in the UAE.
