Myself and Girlfriend (both of us 25) intend to move to Dubai in Jan 2014. However we are unsure of when we should be applying for jobs and what is the best way of doing it? We have both been working for the last two years, I’ve been working in insurance/finance and Sarah in sales/marketing, we both have business related degrees. Any information and advice you may have would be really appreciated.

It is best to start looking for actual jobs about 3 months before you intend to move out however you can start doing your research now.  See what big financial institutions have offices in the UAE, find out who works there, find out if you have any contacts in these companies.  If it is at all possible I would also strongly suggest you make a trip out to Dubai to meet with recruitment consultants, and talk to financial companies based here. Networking is very big in Dubai so try and meet with as many people who are based here or who have worked here who may have contacts you can use.  It is always best when an employer can put a face to a CV.
