Ask Louise – Which School?
My 6 year old daughter has been accepted into Dubai American Academy, Gems World Academy and Emirates International School-Meadows. Due to proximity to where we will be living we are currently learning towards EIS Meadows but I have been unable to get too many reviews about the school on-line. I would appreciate any advice you might have regarding this.
First of all you are very lucky to have three choices, as school places for next year are at a premium especially for this age. To be honest all the schools are an easy distance from the Meadows so you shouldn’t let this be the overall deciding factor. EIS is a very international school and a sister school to EIS Jumeirah both are now established and achieve good results. I have not heard any bad reports on the school apart from the normal change over of teachers which is the norm in Dubai but always seems to alarm parents. For the primary school DAA runs a American Curriculum and GEMS World and EIS runs an IB curriculum so you also need to think which curriculum you would like your child to follow. Most importantly personally visit the schools so you can see first-hand how they operate and if possible try and get some feed back from parents with kids there at the moment.
