So, you are new(ish) to Dubai or possibly planning to relocate to Dubai in the near future? We are happy that you have found our blog, Expat Echo Dubai. Hopefully, you will find it a helpful resource during your settling in process into this unique city.
First of all, let me start by the obvious. Dubai is unlike any other city in the world. It’s very likely that you will be relocating here from some place very, very different. Do not fear. Don’t let the glitz, glam or size scare you. (more…)

ChefXChange-2-300x147When I first started FooDiva all of four years ago, I also had another idea – an online community showcasing chefs for hire. Since then, a week does not go by when I am asked to recommend a private chef or boutique caterer, and we have so many in Dubai now. drivers-and-vehicle-appDriving without carrying a licence or vehicle registration card won’t be an offence now as the new Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) mobile application makes the cards available on the go.

RTA has added m-store to its Drivers and Vehicles app that will have any Dubai-issued licence and vehicle registration card or distinguished number plate stored.

A motorist has to sign in with his or her RTA registered ID and password on the app to have all the details on the screen.

“Once signed in, the application will display the fines issued on the registered vehicle number or the licence number, and on m-store inside the app both the registration cards and licence cards will be available,” said Ahmad Hashem Behroozian, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency. Read more
