Indicating is a sign of weakness, finds UAE driving survey
When I first moved to Dubai, it was very difficult for me to get used to the unique style of driving found around the UAE. It is most likely the result of blending so many different cultures together. When I get on the road, it’s all defense as many drivers tend to veer in and out of lanes without using any indicator, pass on both the left and right and ride on each other’s bumpers (too close for comfort). Often drivers’ lane changes do not appear intentional and I wonder if they have been distracted, or worse, fallen asleep at the wheel.
