Jumeirah Lakes Towers

Jumeirah Lakes Towers commonly referred to as “JLT” is located opposite Dubai Marina on the other side of Sheikh Zayed Road between Interchange 5 and 6. A total of 87 eclectic residential and commercial towers make up the community. There are three winding man-made lakes and a park called “Jumeirah Lakes Towers Park”.This park allows pets much to the delight of the residents in the area.  Central to the development is the Almas Tower which houses the headquarters of the Dubai Multi commodities Centre (DMCC) and member businesses in the gold, diamond and commodities industries.   Yearly rent ranges from the low end at AED 60,000  for a studio apartment to AED 300,000+ for a larger 4 bedroom apartment.

The community is still partially under development however, many cafes have opened up and the road network has greatly improved making access in and out of the area much easier than a few years ago not forgetting JLT being built right next to the Metro line giving instant quick access to many areas of Dubai.

JLT offers residents a more reasonable cost of living compared to the neighboring Dubai Marina and many young professionals and middle class families choose to call JLT home. The Bonnington Hotel and Movenpick JLT offer several restaurants and lounges licensed to serve alcohol and for more leisure and entertainment choices many residents choose to visit and use the Dubai Marina and JBR amenities where you can find numerous shopping and restaurant outlets along with the very popular beach area at JBR.

JLT is served with various supermarkets including Spinneys, Park’n’Shop and Carrefour.

A number of medical and dental clinics have opened up in JLT and the nearest Accident and Emergency Hospital would be either Saudi German Hospital or Cedars Jebel Ali.

Nurseries and schools can be found nearby in the Marina, Emirates Hills and Jebel Ali areas of town.

Hi! I live in Lake View Tower, JLT. Prices have now dropped since this article was originally published such that you can now get a studio for AED30,000 per year whereas they used to be AED55,000. Hope this helps those currently looking for a studio apartment!

If you were to work at the RC Dubai Marina, which would you consider to be the best area to live, Jumeirah Lakes Towers or Jumeirah Beach Residences? Please allow me to know in terms of budget, which one is more expensive?

      Hi! Cortes,

By “RC Dubai Marina” are you referring to the Ritz-Carlton Dubai Marina, or perhaps the new Ruth’s Chris in Dubai Marina Mall?
Please clarify so that we can better advise you.

      Kindest regards,

I apologize for the confusion, I meant Ritz Carlton. Please allow me to know which living zone / area would you consider the closest to the hotel. Also, if its not too much to ask, let me know in terms of budget for rent. What will be the standard to pay?

    Thanks a lot.

      Hi! Cortes,
Thank you for clarifying. The closest residential community is Jumeirah Beach Residences (JBR). Dubai Marina would be the next closest, followed by Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT). Budget wise, JLT is the cheaper option and although on the other side of Sheikh Zayed Road there is a foot-bridge for pedestrian access & 2 metro stations.
      Regarding rent;
JLT: rent approx. Dh64.92 per square foot
Dubai Marina: rent approx. Dh81.84 per square foot
JBR: rent approx. Dh82.2 per square foot
      We hope this is helpful.
