Dubai Expat Interview – Feroz Qadir

This week’s Into-yous features Indian expat Feroz Qadir.

Tell us a little about yourself
I live my life, rather enjoy my life, in Dubai with sheer pleasure and delight. I feel this is the exact place to explore different kinds of people from different countries. I work in the health care Industry in an insurance department. For me, every second of my weekend is most important. I party, go for long drives or attend events.

When did you move to Dubai and what brought you here?
For me Dubai is best place to live. We get to know nationalities with different cultures. This country respects every religion, tradition and culture. It follows strict Islamic rules but never objects to other religion. I admire the safety measure methods of this country. Proud to be Dubai Resident.

Have you been an expat elsewhere and if so, where?
This is my first time outside my country.

The best advice you were given to prepare you for life in Dubai
If you are talented then you are born to live in Dubai. Dubai gives you opportunity, life and pleasure. It pays you real reward for your deeds and handwork. If you don’t visit Dubai, your life is not complete. You will have missed one wonder of the world.

What surprised you most about Dubai?
Safety measures and correct management of rules and regulation. I have seen many people doing rash driving in my country but when the come here they will be accurate. That is the class of Dubai. People love to obey the rules with pride.

What area do you live in?
Al Ras, Deira

If money were no object, where would you most like to live in Dubai?
The Palm Jumeirah

Your favorite Arabic word or phrase you have learned so far
Khallas (It gives relaxation when people end an argument )

Your least favorite word or phrase you have adopted since moving to Dubai
laazim

What has been your best experience in Dubai to date?
Chance to catch big celebrity events and concerts.

Where do you hope to spend your next holiday?
My next plan is to go to Salalah, Oman. My dream destinations are Paris and Las Vegas!

Who is the person you most miss when you are in Dubai?
My mother and my niece. Love that little girl!

What is your favorite restaurant in Dubai?
Lal Qila Restaurant

What grocery item do you most miss from your home country?
I just miss mom’s homemade meals.

When friends and family visit you in Dubai where will you absolutely take them?
Bur Dubai and Burj Khalifa, Atlantis, Sheik Zayed Mosque and many locations.
