Tell us a little about yourself:
I am a professional photographer turned theatre owner! My husband and I have recently opened a one-of-a-kind theatre space in Al Quoz: The Courtyard Playhouse.
When did you move to Dubai and what brought you here:
2007 I came to work and pay off study loans.
Have you been an expat elsewhere and if so, where?

The best advice you were given to prepare you for life in Dubai:
You have to actively seek out like-minded people by joining clubs and groups. There are lots of interesting things happening culturally, in the city, but you have to look to find them.
What surprised you most about Dubai?
How many great people there really are in Dubai. At first it seems really superficial and commercial, but scratch the surface and there are a lot of young, unpretentious, artistic and enthusiastic people here.

If money were no object, where would you most like to live in Dubai?
Umm Suqueim on the beach.
