Tell us a little about yourself
I am a mature expatriate drug and alcohol counselor with over 20 years of experience in many different countries. I am a well qualified and highly motivated counselor with a unique aptitude for understanding and effectively communicating with people from all walks of life. When did you move to Dubai and what brought you here?
I moved to Dubai 5 years ago with my husbands work.
Have you been an expat elsewhere and if so, where?
Yes, I have lived and worked in many countries including South Africa, Indonesia, Malaysia and London.
The best advice you were given to prepare you for life in Dubai
Be open minded.
What surprised you most about Dubai?
How fast it grew.
What area do you live in?
I live in the Jumeriah area.
If money were no object, where would you most like to live in Dubai?
I like to live near the beach.

Inshallah.
Your least favorite word or phrase you have adopted since moving to Dubai
Ma’am!
What has been your best experience in Dubai to date?
I have enjoyed the golf courses.
Where do you hope to spend your next holiday?
In Sri Lanka.
Who is the person you most miss when you are in Dubai?
My family back home.
What is your favorite restaurant in Dubai?
Ravi in Satwa.
What grocery item do you most miss from your home country?
Apples.
When friends and family visit you in Dubai where will you absolutely take them?
Desert safari.
