Waterpolo in Dubai for Children
As parents we all know keeping kids active is important but when they are new to a city sometimes they can feel shy and are reticent to join in.
However, encouraging them to join a team can soon make them feel like they ‘belong’. The city has no shortage of football, netball or rugby teams but maybe these sports are not suitable for your child? Dubai based sports company Sports Life is now offering another alternative team sport that maybe worth considering….Waterpolo.
The playing team consists of six field players and one goalkeeper. The winner of the game is the team that scores the most goals. Game play involves swimming, treading water (using a sort of kicking motion known as ëgg beater kick”, players passing the ball while being defended by opponents, and scoring by throwing the ball into a net defended by a goalie. ‘Man-up’ (or ‘power play’) situations occur frequently.
On 9th February at 2.30pm Sports Life will be giving children from the age of 8 the chance to try out a free water polo session at the Hamdan Sports Complex.
