Move One assists the families of sick children

Move One has donated to the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts after being enlightened by the fundraising efforts of a very special and inspirational young patient, Michaela M. Sullivan.

Michaela spent eight weeks in hospital as a result of complications that arose from spinal fusion surgery. Following this Michaela’s doctors transferred her to the pediatric program at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. It was here that Michaela realized miracles can, and often do, happen as a direct result of the care and attention all the children there receive.

The staff at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital reiterated to Michaela the importance of inner strength and positive attitude on her journey to recovery. Before too long Michaela was sitting, then standing and eventually walking small distances. The hospital created a feeling of home during this challenging time, not only for Michaela but for countless other children.

Michaela’s plight is to raise money for the very special pediatric patient fund that the hospital will use to continue to support the personal needs of the families that stay there. All the monies raised will go towards making individual families’ recovery easier, from slippers for children that don’t have them to simply a family meal out.
