The New Year has brought with it some slight changes to how we do things in the Emirates such as banking, renting a home or purchasing a car.  Don’t forget in Dubai the deadline for getting a 40% discount on your traffic violations you accumulated before 2nd December, 2011 expires on 12th January, 2012. 

The first note in my 2012 diary of “things to do” is to finally get my ID card as the deadline for expats to get their ID cards in Dubai is 1st June, 2012 and I don’t want to be caught out in the last minute rush, queuing in temperatures of 40 degrees!
