As the deadline for obtaining the Emirates ID Card approaches for residents in Dubai, the authorities have advised that penalties will be imposed on those people that fail to register changes in their marital status, births or deaths of family members, residency, and change of address.

Self-service machines will subsequently be made available in different Emirates to allow people to make minor modifications, which can also be completed on-line.
