A Night out for a Good Cause
Another great fund raising event for cancer charity is happening this Friday down at the McGettigan’s Tent in the Bonnington Hotel, Jumeirah Lake Towers, from 7.30pm. You will be treated to a great night of live music with all funds raised going to the Macmillan Cancer Support– an international charity that improves the lives of people affected by cancer. One in three of us will get cancer. We are all affected by cancer. We can all help. We are Macmillan.
Live music will be played by a local band Suburban Voodoo. The band is made up of a rich blend of backgrounds and talents. A globe-trotting refugee from Birmingham, a corporate chief from Dublin, a teacher from Cardiff, an Arsenal striker turned Policewoman from London, a “Robbie Williams” from Harrogate, a high flyer from Kildare and a reformed Punk Rocker from London – all with nothing whatsoever in common but a shared passion for music. Individually they’ve jammed, recorded and gigged from Club45 in Salvador, Bahia to The Hammersmith Apollo, Carnegie Hall in New York, Cork Opera House, Sony Tree Studio in Nashville and Abbey Road Studios in London. Together in Dubai, Suburban Voodoo have developed a sparkling repertoire of rock, soul and funk wrapped around some very soulful singing that is building this band’s growing reputation around town.
So help raise money for a great cause and get down to McGettigans for a great night of entertainment. All contributions are voluntary.
