RTA has removed the 24 AED maximum daily charge for the Salik tolling system; the decision will be effective starting from the 15^th of July.

RTA has confirmed that the decision will only affect a small percentage of Salik users, and that the average user will not be affected, since around 95% of private vehicles do not exceed six trips per day. RTA clarified that the aim of this decision is to encourage drivers to use alternative roads like AL Khail road and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed road, reducing traffic on the roads which have Salik toll gates.
