The Change Initiative
If you have recently moved to Dubai, or are planning to move soon, you will soon discover being environmentally friendly in Dubai can sometimes be a bit of a challenge. Although ‘its not easy being green‘ recently it got slightly easier with the opening of a new shop in Al Barsha called The Change Initiative. The shop aims to bring to Dubai a ‘one-stop’ marketplace, offering environmentally-friendly services and products.
Located in a 4,000 square-metre facility at the Al Barsha end of Sheikh Zayed Road, The Change Initiative will display sustainable solutions, including cleaning products, water and energy-saving technology, photovoltaic cells, environmentally friendly home and office furniture, organic food, and fashion accessories made from recycled materials.
The Change Initiative will not only sell products – they also help educate. To help people understand how they can go green at home and in the office, there will be demonstration areas and a mock-up office and apartment.
About 20 per cent of the goods sold in The Change Initiative are to be imported because not everything the company wants to sell is available here.
