Nol Card is a smart card that enables you to pay for the use of various RTA transport modes in Dubai with a single card. You can use your Nol Card to travel on Dubai’s Metro, Buses, Water Buses, as well as pay for RTA’s Paid Parking and now some taxi’s.

With Nol Card, all you need to do is ‘touch & go’, which means you simply tap your card on a the card reader at the entry and exit gates of Metro and Waterbus stations; at the entrance of every RTA Bus and on all RTA parking meters. The system will then automatically deduct the correct fare from your card. It’s quick and easy to use and means you no longer need to carry cash to get around the city.

Children below 5 years can travel for free without a card.

You can purchase Nol Cards from Ticket offices located in all Metro stations and some Bus stations. Silver Cards and Red Tickets can be purchased from some Ticket Vending Machines. Silver Cards can also be purchased from RTA Customer Service Centres and from RTA’s authorised sales agent. Nol Blue Cards can be applied for online.

To start your journey on public transport in Dubai, the minimum balance needed in your Nol card is Dh5.80

Cash is not be accepted for payment to use Metro, Buses and Water Buses.

There are 4 different types of Nol cards – Red, Blue, Silver and Gold

Red Card
Ideal for the occasional traveler or tourist.  Paper-based ticket that can be bought from any ticket vending machine at any time for only AED 2. It can be loaded with up to 10 Single Trips. Currently, this ticket can only be used on one mode of transport at a time (e.g. on Metro only, Bus only).

Blue Card
Nol Blue Card is a personalized smart card (ie has your photo on it).
Ideal for the frequent traveller.
Comes with an e-purse that can be loaded with up to AED 500.  Enjoy a secure card balance if your card gets lost/stolen. Enjoy a variety of secure & personalized online services and receive SMS & email notifications to keep you posted.
Can be used on all modes of transport
Price: AED 70 (includes AED 20 e-purse value)
Valid for 5 years
If you are Students, Senior Citizen or Disabled, you can enjoy having special fares for different concession types of nol blue card

Silver Card
Nol Silver Card is an anonymous card with an e-purse that can be loaded with up to AED 500. Enjoy the ease of getting this card immediately from any ticket office for only AED 20 (includes AED 14 e-purse value)
Can be used on all modes of transport
Valid for 5 years

Gold Card
Nol Gold Card is also an anonymous card with the same features as the Silver Card, but it gives you the privileged access to Metro’s Gold Class seats for a premium fare.
When used on other modes of transport with no Gold Class (for example, Buses), you will not be charged the premium fare.
Valid for 5 years

Disabled people travel free-of-charge on Dubai Buses and Metro. UAE National senior citizens and students from all nationalities get 50% off with Nol Blue Card.
