Not only is Germany credited with starting the tradition of the Christmas tree in the 16th century, but the Advent Calendar was also a German invention, originally designed to involve children in the festivities leading up to Christmas. Humaid Al Qatami, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources today issued a circular stating that January 1, 2013 – New Year’s Day – will be a holiday in the UAE.
Saqr Ghobash, Minister of Labour, has also issued a decision that designates Tuesday, January 1 2013 as a paid holiday for the private sector in the UAE. Work will resume on Wednesday, January 2. Read more

In this case, can I represent to DNRD that I am the sole provider of my parents? Or should I mention that me and my brother both stay in UAE and are the sole supporters (since there is no one in my home country to look after my parents. My parents are in UAE right now for visit visa. Read more
