Moving to Dubai you may have heard horror stories of driving in Dubai. However, from conversations with recent new arrivals  all have been pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to drive in Dubai.  This is largely due to the fact that over the past few years there has been an emergence of more and more speed cameras, better roads and stricter penalties on bad driving.

Unlike other countries fines for traffic violations only have to be paid once a year when you go to re-register your vehicle however this is not to be recommended as sometimes you can be in for a nasty and expensive surprise as the fines mount up because you are not always informed that you have committed a violation.  It is therefore recommended to log onto the Dubai Police Website  periodically to check if you have fines and pay them online.
