I am the owner of the professional organizing business, Decluttr Me. Since 2013, I have been working within homes and offices, providing focused, calm and practical advice, helping clients to achieve the correct organisation balance and clutter free space for their needs.

When did you move to Dubai and what brought you here:
I moved here in 2005 and worked in the Legal Department as a lawyer at Emirates.
I just applied, got the job and moved here. I had come here on holiday in 2002 so knew what to expect (sort of) 🙂 Read more

Tell us a little about yourself:

I love to travel, fitness is my passion and my life and I love the outdoors. So Dubai is a perfect location for me. I can work outside most months of the year. I also love to socialise and Dubai is a fantastic hub for that.

When did you move to Dubai and what brought you here:
I moved to Dubai in June 2012 to work as a personal trainer for Jumeirah Beach Hotel. I had the most spectacular views from my ”office” and my day to day job was everything that I love. Fitness, fun and playing around to create new and imaginative exercises. However, I realised that as much as I love going to the gym, I just didn’t want to work in one all day every day. I preferred training clients outside where I could challenge them in ways they didn’t expect. Plus let’s face it, for 8 months of the year the weather outside is fantastic for outdoor training. So I established a personal training company (Born 2 Perform) with my business partner, Katherine. We provide 1 on 1, partnered and small group personal training, Pilates and boot camp classes, as well as more specialised training programming for those with sport specific requirements and those with injuries. Tell us a little about yourself:
I’m a writer, runner, traveller and photographer who is always looking for the next adventure! Originally from historic York, I now call Dubai home, but at the same time make the most of its fantastic location to explore the world! At the beginning of this year, I created to share my adventures and photography with my readers. Through the site, I aim to draw attention to the fact that there is a lot more to the city (and the emirate and UAE in general) than shopping malls, brunches and beaches. Looking further afield, I document my travels, submit reviews, and advise others – namely solo female travellers – on their own itineraries. Through the blog, I hope to inspire others to take the path that I have – one that can be daunting, yet at the same time, thrilling and full of adventures that create a life time of memories!

When did you move to Dubai and what brought you here:
In a previous life, I was a primary school teacher working in international schools after completing my first year of teaching in the UK. Three years ago, I was offered a teaching job in Dubai, and moved here in August 2011. I chose Dubai because it had a huge mix of expats and provided exactly what I needed at the time – bustling city life, sunny days and balmy nights (’balmy’ being an understatement!) – although these needs have since changed.
