Do you have two hours or more? Then this is the month to donate your time to Sew Pink!, a fantastic volunteer event that raises awareness of breast cancer and supports survivors in the region
On Thursday the 16th of October to Saturday the 18th of October, Craft Land is teaming up with local breast cancer support group Brest Friends and sewing machine manufacturer Brother to bring volunteers together for a 36-hour sewing marathon at Dubai Marina Mall.
For 12 hours each day, volunteers will work together in production lines to produce mastectomy cushions and bags that will be part of a care pack for patients recovering from breast surgery. Distributed by Brest Friends and other medical networks in the UAE, these items offer comfort and mobility to patients, helping them keep active as they heal.
To sign up for a two-hour slot (or more), go to www.mycraftland.com and click on the volunteer link.
No clue how to use a sewing machine but still want to help? No problem! Craft Land is also looking for volunteers for other jobs, such as stuffing and cutting, not to mention moral support – this is 36 hours of sewing, after all!
This is a great opportunity to get the whole community involved. See you there!
WHEN: October 16 -18, 10am to 10pm
WHERE: Dubai Marina Mall
WHY: To raise awareness of breast cancer and make care packs for recovering breast cancer patients
