American Independence Day Celebrations
The Fourth of July, or Independence Day, is a holiday in America that celebrates the adoption of the Declaration of the Independence on July 4th, 1776. It is a day of family celebrations traditionally marked with picnics and barbecues. Activities associated with the day include watermelon or hotdog eating competitions and sporting events, such as baseball games, three-legged races, swimming activities and tug-of-war games.
