Donate Your Swim Shorts for Dubai Labourers

As the temperatures heat up to near 50 degrees, many expats in Dubai will be spending their time ‘spring cleaning’, or organizing their ‘stuff’ for leaving or the brave may still be hitting the beach, but spare a thought for the labourers who, on their one day off, have been warned by authorities to only go to the beaches if dressed appropriately ie swimming shorts.

Most labourers however, do not own and cannot afford to buy a pair of swim shorts. But we are sure that due to that extra ‘Dubai Stone’ that may have been gathered in those few years of living in Dubai, you may have an odd pair of swim shorts hanging around your cupboard that are a bit snug, which you could donate!

This weekend there will be a drop box set up on the Kite Beach in Umm Suqeim during the “Paddle for the Planet” event, so people can make a donation of New or fairly New swim shorts for the Laborers to enable them to cool off after a hard week at work.
