OK, it’s the Dubai Rugby 7’s weekend and probably nearly everyone you know is planning on heading up the Al Ain Road at some point this weekend but what is there to do if watching rugby just isn’t for you?

It seems to me that expats in Dubai seem to put up their Christmas Trees much earlier that they would back home so you could join in the trend by unpacking the Christmas Tree, then attempt to unravel the lights or my suggestion would be go and buy a new set (as it saves on the stress factor).  But really the weather is too perfect to stay indoors so how about exploring the recently opened Jumeirah Corniche for a stroll and stopping off for a bite to eat at one of the fishing villages for some fresh seafood or even buy some fish from the fabulous fishmarkets and cook at home.

You could start on your Christmas shopping by visiting the Market of Everything being held at Safa Park on Saturday.  The Market of Everything brings together upcoming brands, makers, designers, crafters, artists, vintage and second-hand vendors. This market is a treasure trove of unique finds you don’t see everyday in Dubai, all within the beautiful outdoors setting of Safa Park.

Staying outdoors, head down to the Marina to Skydive Dubai and witness the champions in the sky for the 5th Dubai International Parachuting Championship where everyday from 8am till sunset skydivers will be falling out of the sky.  There is free entry and parking.

Maybe you don’t like rugby but love cricket!  Pakistan are playing New Zealand in the Cricket Bilateral Series on 4th December at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai Sports City.  Admission starts from AED 30

Recently Dubai set a new Guinness World Record – The Worlds Longest Graffiti Scroll, depicting the rich and colourful journey of the UAE into nationhood and beyond..  This can be viewed until 6th December from 10am – 5pm at Jumeirah Beach Park.
