What is that yellow creature you see all around town – hanging off lamp posts, staring at you from bridges and greeting you at shopping malls? Its Modhesh (meaning “amazing” in Arabic), the mascot of the Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) which starts on 14 June and lasts till 14 July, 2012.

Now in its 15th year DSS attracts tourists and residents by tempting them with the regions best shopping deals, great entertainment, the chance to win prizes worth millions of Dirhams and Modhesh World – the region’s biggest indoor edutainment venue.”

The shopping malls throughout the city will be a great place to escape the heat and enjoy the daily entertainment, concerts and great shopping. Among the most anticipated activities during the shopping and entertainment festivals held for DSS, will be the chance to take part in the grand raffle draws.

This year Modhesh World will move to a new location at Dubai World Trade Centre and will continue to house interactive entertainment and educational activities for children of all ages. It is divided into zones including sport zones, arts & craft zones, an environmental play zone and much much more.

Modhesh World is a highly anticipated family destination during the summer and this year it will be open to visitors from 14th June to 25th August, 2012 during DSS, the holy month of Ramadan, and Eid Al Fitr. It will be open 10am – 10pm, Saturday – Wednesday, and the working hours will be extended to 12 midnight on Thursdays and Fridays.
