Music al Dubai

The first French Culture Festival in the UAE

To mark the closing of the Francophone Week, Music al Dubai aims to bring together the Francophone community within the UAE for two days on the weekend of the 23rd and 24th March, 2012. The musical gathering, which will take place at the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC), will also be a gathering for all arts and crafts lovers. Colorful, diverse cultures in the Francophone world will bring together an assortment of talented artists giving them the opportunity to become better known and recognized.

“We always strive to encourage, as much as we can, French cultural and artistic events taking place in the UAE – be it a school kermesse or a big cultural event,” said Renata Sader, owner of Culture & Co Bookstore, who continued by saying, “we will be selling tickets for the event in our book shop, but we will also have a booth within the festival to showcase our latest Arts Books and Best Sellers, offering the attendants yet another cultural activity during this weekend.”

During this festival, the music will hold a special place as four concerts will be played during the two evenings, starring well renowned French bands and singers – Laurent Delorme and the Francis Cabrel Cover Band plus Debout sur le Zinc performing on the Friday night and Jali plus Arno Santamaria on the Saturday night.

Celebrations begin at midday and the festival will also feature an artist’s village, fine dining and different Francophone pavilions (such as Belgian, Moroccan and Senegalese) as well as an art fair, handicraft markets and a children’s play area.

Tickets cost Dhs175 (one day), Dhs300 (both days), Dhs100 (children) and free entry for children under 12 years. Tickets are available from Culture & Co Bookstore, Al Nasr Plaza, Umm Hurair Street and at all Virgin Megastores.
