It’s that time of year when Dubai becomes an al fresco city once again – celebrate with a Dubai Confidential Film Club screening of classic movie Out of Africa on Saturday 19th November at 1.30pm at the Pavilion Downtown Dubai. The screening will be followed by an afternoon tea party on the terrace to make the most of the beautiful weather!

Dubai Confidential Film Club screenings are aimed at art house movie lovers, who want to meet up and socialise with like-minded people. The events are small, intimate, and exclusive – with screenings taking place in private cinema rooms with a limited number of seats.

Starring Meryl Streep and Robert Redford, Out of Africa tells the story of a Danish plantation owner Karen Blixen, who lives in British East Africa (later to become Kenya) in the early twentieth century. The 1985 classic, which is loosely based around Karen Blixen’s real life autobiography, keeps viewers gripped with a story containing love, heartbreak, happiness, and tragedy. Critically acclaimed, the film won seven Academy Awards in 1986, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress.

The food will be provided by The Palace Hotel. Premium beauty brand L’Occitane are sponsoring the event and will be providing an exclusive gift bag to DC Film Club attendants (for male and/or female), containing its new luxury skincare range.
