The Oil Barons Charity Ball is an annual networking and society event attended by people from the Middle East energy sector, associates, friends and families and provides an evening full of live entertainment, a silver service gala dinner, competitions for Best Dressed female and Best dressed Couple and, the crowning of the Oil Baron. The title of the Oil Baron is given to an individual from the industry, recognized by peers for his lifetime achievements in business and for the community.
The proceeds from the event are donated to a local cancer charity, the Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP). FOCP is the UAE’s only registered cancer charity that provides financial and emotional support to cancer patients and their families in the UAE. This year the Oil Barons Charity Ball has pledged to raise AED 1 million for FOCP. In the last three years, the event has become the largest fundraiser for the charity, donating over AED 1.2 million cumulatively.
The charity ball will be held on the 18th November under the stars at the spectacular Meydan Racecourse. The venue for this year’s event is easy to find, has plenty of parking and will provide a sumptuous backdrop to the glittering ceremony of the Ball.

This year’s theme will be based around the Blues Brother’s movie featuring the all time popular song ‘Everybody Needs Somebody‘. Be entertained by the explosive and fun-packed tribute show “Let the good times roll” featuring Aretha Franklin & James Brown performances.
In addition to exquisite food, fantastic live music and entertainment, the evening will feature the crowning of the 9th Oil Baron. Nominations for the 2011 Oil Baron are now open and can be submitted here. The judging panel will include representatives from Pipeline Magazine; ADIPEC, the number one exhibition for the oil and gas industry; as well as previous Oil Barons.
