Dubai Pet Show | 4 February, 2011 | 7he Sevens Stadium

The 23^rd Dubai Pet Show is close at hand! As many as 35,000 visitors are expected at this year’s event which will be held at the 7he Sevens stadium on February 4. It will be a fun day out for everyone, especially families with their pets.

As well as being a great day out, the event is designed to promote responsibility in pet ownership, increase awareness of the benefits of owning a pet, and provide a platform for all pet owners and lovers alike to gather, enjoy and exchange information. The show will give pet owners and visitors the opportunity to meet professionals in the field, and offer animal rescue groups the opportunity to showcase their charitable services to the Emirati public. These groups will be using the event to raise vital funds for K9 Friends and other supporting charities like Sharjah Cat and Dog Shelter.

Some of the returning favorites of the show include the Pedigree Classes and the Dubai and Abu Dhabi police dog demonstrations. Dubai Municipality’s quick Dog Health Check Station is also a regular hot-spot and provides invaluable advice about UAE legal regulations, vaccinations, micro-chipping and tagging.

The specially designed Arabian Saluki Centre will be welcoming visitors to their Bedouin tent where they can learn about the ancient traditions of hunting in the desert.

Competitions are one of main crowd-pleasers of the show and are presided over by highly qualified experts with many years of experience judging dog shows around the world. Given the popularity of the competitions amongst pet owners and visitors alike, this year the show will introduce some all new competition categories, including ‘Best Six Legs’ , ‘Happiest Dog’,  ’Dog Most Like Owner’ , and ‘Best Fancy Dress’.

All winners will receive Rosettes, trophies and fantastic prizes in the form of gift vouchers from Pedigree Dog Food.
