ArtE – Artisans of the Emirates – has launched a new market concept called The Open Market which has been set up based on feedback from the hugely successful ArtE Markets. The aim of The Open Market is to provide UAE residents the opportunity to sell quality art and craft products, whether they are locally made or imported from elsewhere. The markets will be held regularly at various locations across the UAE.
Co-founder of ArtE, Miriam Walsh said,
“Due to overwhelming requests from local residents who have amazing arts and crafts products that are not made in the UAE, we have decided to open up the successful ArtE Markets and hence ‘The Open Market’ was born.”
The Open Market, organized by ArtE, hopes to create economic opportunities for local artisans and entrepreneurs who blend their passion for the deep-rooted cultures and handmade traditions from around the world. A spectacular consumer event featuring products as diverse as their origins, products not found anywhere else in the UAE, including handicrafts, jewellery, clothing, natural products, sweets, arts and amazing gifts from all over the world.
“The interest so far has been amazing, we have already taken a large amount of bookings with more coming in every hour, there is obviously a need for this type of platform in the UAE, and we hope that this market will build into the successful platform that ArtE has,”
said Walsh.

I have been waiting for the Open Market with great excitement. I love ARTE Souk so was extremely keen to see how the extension in trade impacted the variety of goods.
Had told my friends about the Open Market and advised them of the schedule for 24 February.
Dragged my whole family out to Times Square yesterday – as per your advertised venue and time – only to find there was no sign of the Open Market and the Information Counter knew nothing about it.
What’s going on?
Was it held somewhere else? Why was there no market as advertised?
Would appreciate your reply as now I have lost faith.

We are so sorry that happened to you and sincerely apologies for the inconvenience.
The official event organizers posted an announcement on their facebook page on February 15th to advise that The Open Market has been cancelled for February.
Please don’t loose faith, it is well worth a visit.
We will keep you posted of the proposed date for March.
