RTA New Year’s eve traffic plan: 24-hour Dubai Metro; 10,000 extra parking slots; 53,000 taxi trips
Boulevard Road will be closed at 6pm to avoid vehicular congestion

Ahmed Mohammed Al Hammadi, Head of the team dealing with public transport systems, Metro and taxis during official and annual events, said: “The Metro will be operating round-the-clock starting from 06:00 am on 31/12/2012 up to 01/01/2013 where it is anticipated to transport more than 132,000 passengers on that day.

“The service will be running at a 2.5 minutes headway (frequency) during peak hours and 8 minutes during off peak hours.
“Around 10,000 additional parking slots will be provided by using 2,000 parking slots from the parking lot of the Dubai World Trade Center, and 8,000 slots from Meydan Parking space.
