UAE National Day 2013 Celebrations

If you have recently moved to Dubai this will probably be your first UAE National Day.  You will witness Emiratis and expatriates alike celebrating National Day with much pride and energy.

This takes place on 2nd December, the date back in 1971 when the separate sheikdoms decided to form an independent union. At first the UAE was a federation of six emirates – Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Umm Al Quwain, Sharjah, Fujairah and Ajman. The emirate of Ras Al Khaimah was added a year later.

Emiratis and many expatriates decorate their homes, cars and themselves in the colours of the UAE flag.  Many venues across the UAE will be holding special events to celebrate this special day and once more this year one of the best places to experience National Day will be the Downtown Dubai

The official event in Dubai to celebrate the UAE’s 42nd National Day, will be on the 1st of December from 6pm at the Burj Park. Witness a show of stories from the past, the present and the future through a combination of fictional events. A fantastic show of fireworks will light up the sky after the presentation and all attendees will recieve special souvenir gifts to commomorate this year’s UAE National Day celebrations.

UAE National Day Dubai Parade will take place on 2nd December. Local and international schools, government entities, international brands, cultural groups and Biker’s Clubs have all been working hard, practicing their marching and dancing moves and putting the finishing touches to their floats and costumes. Be sure to arrive early, with friends and family, as they’ll be handing out flags as the parade makes its way along the world famous Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard  Parade which will begin at 3pm.

Both of the above events are free admission and open to everyone and if you would like to take part in the parade click here
